Life is Life
I find that as a teacher one of the problems is you can get stuck in your own way. Since we are always planning out our unit plans down to the specific lesson, if something happens that derails that plan we have to reevaluate the whole process. So when we plan something and then it does not work out because the students don't do the work, it can be frustrating. I have been guilty in the past of overvaluing my own assignments or coursework and not realizing that while they are central to my view of the class, for the students there are many other things going on. This is one aspect I have really enjoyed about my doing my Masters online with Acadia, that I have the freedom to pick it up when I have time and then when life gets busy not feel pressured to work on it.
